                                     Philosophy of Education

As a future teacher I tied with Perennialism, Romanticism, and Progressivism philosophies. When reading about each philosophy. I relate and agree with Progressivism the most. Progressivism is an emphasis on inductive thinking and problem solving. The impact Progressivism has on students is helping them become good citizens with good problem solving skills to carry on into the future. The curriculum for Progressivism is centered on the students interest in real problems and interdisciplinary solution seeking. The student learns best by doing and discovering new things he or she is interested in that the teacher has provided.

When I think about Progressivism I believe it's putting the students first rather then the subject and materials. It's all about the development for the students as they continue to grow and learn. Progressivism is mainly how the teacher accommodates to the students. The teacher is the facilitator of the students learning, and provides those resources for the students and problem-solving abilities that helps them do what they want to do to better their learning and have them be successful.

When being a teacher  I believe it is very important to connect with all your students and learn about them and their learning styles as an individual. Learning is very important not all students learn the same way and when you know how each student works best that's when I believe you are a successful teacher and can make an impact on those students for the future. When showing students you care and support them that gives them more motivation they need to push themselves to do better. In my opinion the students feelings and needs are very important when it comes to learning and bettering themselves for the future.
